Early of last month some friends from the photography group where I join at had talked about blue moon that was occurring at the end of August 2012. I was quite exciting about the news though didn’t know too much about it. One friend explained that the full moon would occur twice within a month and the second one is called blue moon. At first I thought that the moon would turn blue in colour as called but apparently I was wrong! It’s called blue moon because it’s a rare event. As a result there is a phrase ‘once in a blue moon’. Well I never knew it before to be honest.
So last Thursday I prepared myself to take pictures of the moon after checked the forecast though the blue moon would occur on Friday according to the news. Good that I did check it, or otherwise I would miss it! The weather was good on Thursday while it was raining on Friday started in the afternoon. I started taking pictures after 10 pm on Thursday and stayed up late.
Here my photo series of the blue moon:

Another shoot of the crescent moon and Venus
I took those pictures yesterday (26th March 2012) at around 8 pm after read this article: Moon and Venus closest in west after sunset March 26. I tried to shoot them again in one hour later but unfortunately I couldn’t get nice pictures due to my lack of the equipments. I only used my Kodak Easy Share C713.
This post is to continuing my previous one here.
Hope you enjoy it! 🙂
Autumn 2011, Kodak Easy Share C713
Last night the universe gave a beautiful panorama in the sky. A crescent moon alongside with two big and very bright stars were in line diagonally. Unfortunately I don’t have a proper camera yet to take a picture of that moment but still determine to record it. So I took my Kodak Easy Share C713 camera along with me and went to a car park nearby where I live to get a good view of.
Due to the poor quality of my camera so the picture came out shaking and has many shadows. Never mind! At least the picture is still able to show the curve of the crescent moon. I still love it though and so therefore I called it My Improper Crescent Moon!
My Improper Crescent Moon
This picture I took in 2008 if I didn’t make mistake. First time I published this picture on my old blog at Y!360 where I joined a fun event called Picture Perfect Friday (PPF) and the theme at the time was black and white. The event was run by a lady who loves photography and every week on Monday she gave us a new theme for the PPF. It was a very nice event or program because every Friday we could see lots of beautiful and very creative pictures since people had different interpretation of the theme that we could see on their work. Now they have moved to Multiply for blogging there due to the Y!360 been shut down.
As far as I can remember I took this picture when there was a lunar eclipse in Asia especially in Indonesia in 2008. Also I remember that it was my first time to snap the moon which I’d been longing for long time while I still learned to get used to with my Samsung Digimax A7 camera.
I tool lots of pictures at the time and I think this one was my best shoot ever! Unfortunately I’ve lost the files of these moon. This one is the one that left but it is not the original one in term of the size of the picture. What a tragic!
Now I have to called this picture as My Lost Moon 😦
