My Photojournalism: The ‘Small’ Supermoon

Image

Few days ago people were talking about the phenomena of perigee full moon or ‘supermoon’ that was going to occur on 5th and 6th of May 2012. As a person who really loves things about the universe or astronomy so obviously I didn’t want to miss that moment. Unfortunately the weather in UK at the times was not quite supporting. It was cloudy on Saturday so the moon was covered by the clouds. It was better on Sunday though it wasn’t too bright I think.

It is not only the weather as my challenge to take pictures of night sky photography but also my pocket camera, Kodak Easy Share C713. It didn’t stop me to capture the moment during that time anyway.

Here my photographs of my small supermoon:

How about yours? Could you see this phenomena clearly where you lived by?

My Photojournalism: The Crescent Moon and Venus on 26th March 2012

Click this picture and try to spot Jupiter near on the bottom right. It's not as bright as Venus but visible still though.

I took those pictures yesterday (26th March 2012) at around 8 pm after read this article: Moon and Venus closest in west after sunset March 26. I tried to shoot them again in one hour later but unfortunately I couldn’t get nice pictures due to my lack of the equipments. I only used my Kodak Easy Share C713.

This post is to continuing my previous one here.

Hope you enjoy it! 🙂

My Photojurnalism: The Crescent Moon, Jupiter, and Venus, in March 2012

I’ve been attracted to the universe since I was a kid as far as I can remember. I loved it so much when my father told me a story about the sun, the moon, the stars, the planet, and so on. When the night came I liked to sit in the terrace front of my house enjoying the night sky. While I was staring at the moon my mind would be filled with lots of imagination of the universe. I could sit there for ages just by looked at the night sky. My big dreams are to have a telescope and laying in the field every night so I could observe the sky every day, LOL. I just adore it so much!

Anyway today I wanted to show my best pictures of the universe that I’ve taken so far. When I said my best that means according to my own standard based on my ability and not to compare it with anyone. I took these pictures in March 2012 using my Kodak Easy Share C713, the only equipment of photography that I have. So obviously do not expect that I would come with good pictures like a professional has.

According to the article of Best Venus-Jupiter conjunction in years in mid-March 2012, the Venus and Jupiter would be seen very close together in the mid-March 2012. And so the picture below I took it on 13th March 2012 at night around 7 pm.

Jupiter and Venus on 13th March 2012 around 7 pm

I took these pictures below two days in a row, 24th and 25th March 2012, just after sunset. An article from Jodrell Bank Center for Astrophysics‘ website, The Night Sky March 2012, says that on 25th March 2012 we would see the crescent moon, Jupiter, and Venus.

On 24th March 2012…

My Improper Crescent Moon

Image

Last night the universe gave a beautiful panorama in the sky. A crescent moon alongside with two big and very bright stars were in line diagonally. Unfortunately I don’t have a proper camera yet to take a picture of that moment but still determine to record it. So I took my Kodak Easy Share C713 camera along with me and went to a car park nearby where I live to get a good view of.

Due to the poor quality of my camera so the picture came out shaking and has many shadows. Never mind! At least the picture is still able to show the curve of the crescent moon. I still love it though and so therefore I called it My Improper Crescent Moon!

Unfathomable Eyes ~ Mata Dewa

I always like to observe the cloud because it always shows me unfathomable painting of the universe.

If you look at the pictures in detail then you might able to find ‘two eyes’ in the cloud.
